Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed the project of extending a strategic main pipeline with a diameter of 800mm to transport water from Al Zubair Station to Al Shanouf Suburb.
The project, which commenced in mid-July 2022, used environmentally friendly materials that maintain water quality. The new pipeline will provide fresh, pure water to the areas of Mahdub, Hadibah, and the new areas in Al Shanouf Suburb, enhancing the efficiency of the network.

Eng. Faisal Al Sarkal, Director of Water Department at SEWA, explained that the project is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which focus on providing essential services to new areas and development projects according to the highest specifications.

He pointed out that the strategic water transportation pipeline from Al Zubair Station to Al Shanouf Suburb has been fully completed in all its stages, including excavation works, pipe installation, control valve chambers, protection works, and maintenance of surrounding roads. Carbon steel pipes protected with safe and sanitary epoxy coating were used, in accordance with the latest international standards for fresh water distribution and transportation systems. Water pressure tests have been conducted, and the pipeline is ready for operation. The total cost of the project is approximately AED 15.5 million, and the pipeline length exceeds 6 km with an 800mm diameter.
