Sharjah 24: The Friends of Arthritis Patients, one of the health-supporting associations in the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, organised the closing ceremony of the first edition of the Arthritis-Friendly Schools Award for government and private schools in Sharjah.
The event was held at the Sharjah Ladies Club in collaboration with the Emirates Schools Establishment and the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), in the presence of Her Excellency Wahida Abdulaziz, Chairperson of the Friends of Arthritis Patients, and Her Excellency Eman Rashid Saeed, Director of Health Promotion Department.
The award aims to instill concepts of humanitarian and charitable work among students and promote a spirit of competition within the student community.
The award covers various humanitarian, social, and sports aspects, in addition to activities that support arthritis patients towards a healthier and better life.
Her Excellency Wahida Abdulaziz welcomed the attendees, noting that the award was announced in November 2022 and targets second and third cycle schools. It includes awareness and sports programmes and activities that support the Friends of Arthritis Patients in collaboration with the Emirates Schools Establishment and the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
