Sharjah24: Sultan Salah Al Ali, a member of the Sharjah Sports Club and an aspiring taekwondo athlete, is now training to compete in the 26th Taekwondo World Championship, set for 2023. Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will host the tournament from May 29th to June 6th.
Sharjah Sports Council focuses a lot on Al Ali since he is one of the top taekwondo athletes in the United Arab Emirates. More than twenty medals of various types were awarded to him in major international tournaments.
In addition to Ali Mohammed Ali, Hassan Shabir, and Abdullah Guloom Al Mazmi, all of whom have been instrumental in leading the national team to multiple victories, Sharjah Sports Club is well-known for nurturing highly talented athletes.
Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), commented on Al Ali's selection, saying, "The inclusion of a Sharjah Sports Club player in the national team is evidence of the excellence of our athletes. His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah is a major patron of sports and athletics, and he has provided us with unrestricted resources. Constantly inspired to grow and enhance our position, thanks to the wise advice of our leader, who stresses the necessity of representing the country honourably."
Al Hazami expressed his best wishes for the national taekwondo team, hoping that they will achieve positive results in the World Championship and further elevate the UAE's position as a leading sports nation in the game, in line with its outstanding achievements in various fields, including its foray into space thanks to the efforts of its sons and daughters.
