Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) completed many power development and service projects in the first quarter of 2023. This is part of their continued efforts to deliver high-quality services to all regions of Sharjah and complete projects efficiently.
The authority provided power to 941 projects with broadened low and medium voltage network cables by 140 km in Sharjah city after inspecting the locations and fulfilling power connection standards. In Sharjah, 4,924 smart metres have been installed, and 5,905 mechanical metres were replaced with smart metres to provide accurate and error-free readings.
Dr Hassan Al-Zarouni, Director of Electricity Distribution at the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority, stressed that the authority is always improving its services and providing them to the highest standards to comply with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, and the Chairman of the Executive Council.
In the first three months of the year, the authority maintained 126 residential, commercial, and industrial properties. To ensure continuity and provide the finest services to residents, the authority maintained 2071 11-kilovolt stations and 131 sub-distribution panels.
In the first quarter of 2023, 3005 lighting poles were set up and operated for 39 km of new highways. 14206 road lighting assets are maintained. Auditing and site inspections resulted in 5,657 no-objection certifications.
