Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) announced that during the first quarter of this year, it connected natural gas to 537 projects, including 451 residential and 86 commercial projects.
SEWA provided natural gas services to 18,750 households and conducted maintenance and replacement work for gas boxes and pipelines.

Engineer Amna Bin Hadeh, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, explained that the Authority has started implementing the 73 km-long main pipeline project, Al Hamriyah, since March 2023, with 13% already completed, and it is expected to be completed within nine months at a cost of AED 10.5 million.

The efforts to implement gas projects come as part of the directions of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and in the interest of providing better services and living conditions for residents and encouraging the use of natural gas as an alternative fuel.

The Authority is working on several other main pipeline projects, including the Al Shanouf Pipeline, the fourth phase of the Siyuh 16 (Al-Sheikh Zayed housing programme), and the Bataeh project.
