Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council kicked off the first-ever Junior Football Championship for players aged 13 and 14 on Saturday. The tournament, which features six different clubs, will run through May 27. Ittihad Kalba leads Group 2 with 6 points, while Al-Bataeh and Al-Sharjah share first place in Group 1 with 4 points each. The second round of matches will begin on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Omran Al Jasmi, Acting Director of the Department of Sports and Development Affairs, stressed the tournament's importance for this age group, stating that it will promote harmony and interaction between clubs and assist players develop morality and sportsmanship.
At the conclusion of the event, the top three teams will be awarded trophies, while the best coach, player, goalkeeper, and scorer, as well as the ideal club, will each get individual awards.
