Sharjah 24: The Friends for Diabetes, one of the health-supporting organisations under the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs' Health Promotion Department, had its inaugural general meeting for 2023.
They discussed action plans for their major health initiatives and programmes, which they expect to organise in the coming months.
Khawla Al Haj, Head of the Friends for Diabetes, and Iman Rashid Saif, Director of Health Promotion Department, as well as a representative from the Ministry of Community Development and members of the organisation's board of directors, attended the meeting.
The meeting witnessed an exchange of ideas to expand the association's diabetes awareness initiatives and educational programmes to raise community members' understanding of diabetes and preventative techniques.
Khawla Al Haj expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), for her interest and eagerness to provide full support and care to the Friends for Diabetes in continuing to launch initiatives and projects.
She emphasised that Her Highness' support and thorough follow-up were the cause for the association's success in sustaining the health of diabetes patients.
She provided a report on the association's programmes, the previous year's budget, the financial report, and the budget for 2023.
She went over all of the plans and programmes that the association intends to implement with the attendees, emphasising the association's and all of its working staff's commitment to providing quality programmes to raise awareness among the community and those affected by diabetes, as well as to provide support and assistance to patients.
She extended her thanks and admiration to all members and volunteers of the association for their efforts in attaining the association's aims throughout the years.
