Sharjah 24: Dr. Fatima Al Zarooni, Member of the Friends for Diabetes, stated that 80 public and private schools will participate in the “Superhero” awareness programme that targets the educational family and ways of prevention and coexistence with diabetes.
The Friends for Diabetes of the Health Promotion Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah announced on Wednesday, during the press conference, the details of the “Superhero” awareness programme, which is held in public and private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah.
It aims to educate students, parents, and the administrative and teaching staff on ways of prevention and coexistence with diabetes, and to highlight the right of a diabetic child to lead a normal life like other children without diabetes.
Dr. Fatima Al Zarooni said during exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24” that the programne is one of the most important programmes and initiatives launched by the association for school students.
She added that the number of schools participating in this programme reached 80, 40 public and 40 private.
She thanked the strategic partners, namely, the Emirates Schools Establishment, the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and the Sharjah Education Council for their support and efforts in making this programme a success every year.
