Sharjah 24: The Ramadan activities of Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled in Sharjah, which took place from March 26 to April 13, 2023, under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council, concluded last Thursday.
The sports activities of the club varied between sports, cultural, and community activities, including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and swimming.
The activities also included competitions for memorising the Holy Quran, awareness lectures, and a drawing competition.
Several important figures attended the closing ceremony, such as Abdulghaffour Al Raisi, a board member of Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled, Ahmed Salem Al Mazloum, the club's executive director, coaches, supervisors, and parents.
During the event, Ahmed Salem Al Mazloum expressed his admiration for the programme's success, praising the participants for their commitment to following the supervisors' instructions.
He highlighted the innovative and creative nature of this year's programmes, which uncovered new talents in sports, culture, and art.
The Ramadan events were thoughtfully crafted to accommodate all age ranges and disabilities, and they were extremely advantageous.
A professional educator assisted the participants in building a comprehensive character that could handle duties and successfully integrate into society, allowing them to make the most of this sacred month. Furthermore, they were urged to use this month's opportunities to apply ideals of generosity and benevolence.
