Sharjah24: As part of its commitment to promoting communication and solidarity among all employees and in fulfillment of its social responsibility to enhance social cohesion and mutual support, the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) organised a variety of religious, social, cultural, and charitable events throughout the holy month of Ramadan, to celebrate the values of the blessed month.
The Department launched its Ramadan activities with a lecture on "How to Welcome Ramadan" presented by Tariq Al-Hamadi.
The SDPW branch in Dibba Al-Hisn, in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Affairs, hosted a religious lecture titled "The Virtue of Fasting" presented by Ali Al-Bloushi. Both lectures called for taking advantage of the holy month of Ramadan by engaging in acts of obedience, spreading tolerance and positivity among members of the community, and investing the month of Ramadan in reciting the Qur'an and supplication.
The Department also organised an iftar banquet for its employees and workers. Additionally, a charity and giving competition was launched, which consisted of religious questions distributed to employees, in addition to daily newsletters such as a Ramadan supplication newsletter and a newsletter on charity and giving, which were circulated through email to encourage proper practices in this noble month.
Maryam Al Mazmi, Director of the Corporate Communication Center, said, "As part of our celebration, we are committed to promoting social cohesion and solidarity among different segments of the Emirati society, in line with the directives of our wise leadership."
"Our cultural, social, and religious events during the holy month of Ramadan aim to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and selflessness in a spiritual atmosphere that embodies the noble Islamic values of tolerance and affection, as well as the authentic heritage and traditions of the UAE," Al Mazmi added.
