Sharjah24: His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, attended the closing ceremony of the thirtieth edition of the Ramadan Police Championship, organised by the Sports Activities Department of the Media and Public Relations Administration at the Sharjah Police Club.
The championship featured 420 players representing various departments of Sharjah Police, and culminated in the police operations team receiving the shield.
The winning teams of the first edition of the Padel Tennis Tournament for government entities and institutions in Sharjah, hosted by the General Command at the Police Club, were also honoured. The championship featured 70 players representing 15 government entities and departments in the emirate.
The closing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Eng. Omar Khalfan Heraimil Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources in Sharjah and Member of Sharjah Executive Council, His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Government Employees Club, Hamid Ali Al-Abar, Member of the Federal National Council, Obaid Awad Al-Teneiji, Member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Abdullah Sultan Al-Dah, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council, Omar Matar Al-Manna'i, Executive Director of "Emirates Auction", Hassan Al-Bilghouni, Corporate Communications Director at Sharjah Islamic Bank, Elias Fayad, Representative of National Paints Company, as well as police directors and administrators in Sharjah Police, and a number of representatives from government and private entities in the emirate.
Major General Al-Shamsi lauded the outstanding triumphs of both the Ramadan Police Tournament and the Padel Tennis tournament, the latter of which catered to organizations and government departments in Sharjah. He extolled the participants for their fierce competitiveness and praised the organizing committee for their hard work. He also commended the players for their sportsmanlike conduct, which aligns with the ultimate purpose of such purposeful sports events that foster stronger relationships and communication amongst colleagues, and have significant benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Additionally, this tournament presented a valuable opportunity to discover talented athletes who the leadership will support and invest in, to represent Sharjah Police in various local and international competitions.
In conclusion, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police awarded the Police Operations with the General Shield with a total of 60 points, and he honoured the organising, supervising, and supporting institutions and entities that had a significant impact on the success of the tournament, including the Emirates Auction, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Al-Taniji Real Estate, and National Paints Company.
The appreciation also extended to all the winning teams in the six competitions of the Ramadan Police Tournament, including football, volleyball, tug of war, swimming, padel tennis, and electronic games. Furthermore, the top five winners of the padel tennis tournament for institutions, organizations, and government departments in Sharjah were also honoured.
