Sharjah24: Aisha Ateeq Al Amri, Administrative Coordinator in the Department of Biological Diversity at the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), stated that the "Sustainable Trees" initiative targeted public and private school students to highlight the importance of preserving local trees, and in this case the Ghaf tree and the mangrove tree.
Al Amri confirmed, in exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24", the reason for choosing the Ghaf tree, is because the tree withstands the harsh conditions in the desert. Moreover, Mangroves are among the most trees that help preserve the marine environment from sediment, making them an essential element for some marine animals and birds.

She added that registration for the initiative will start at the beginning of 2024, and will include several innovative activities for students on the importance of trees and their role in maintaining environmental balance.
