EPAA organises afforestation campaign in Wadi Al Helo

Sharjah24: Dalal Al Yamahi, Director of Kalba Branch in Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) confirmed the Authority's keenness to increase the green area in the mountainous areas through several initiatives, including the activities of the Afforestation Week, which comes in line with the environmental campaign to plant the mountains of Wadi Al Helo.

The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Kalba organised a campaign to plant the mountains of Wadi Al Helo, as part of the activities of the Afforestation Week, under the slogan "Together... Let's Plant the UAE."

Commenting on this, Al Yamahi has highlighted the importance of the awareness campaign, which was organised in cooperation with the Kalba Municipality in Wadi Al Helo, underscoring its significance in preserving the mountainous areas.

She added, in statements to “Sharjah 24”, that the campaign, attracting a crowd of representatives of government departments and institutions, school students, and parents, included planting seedlings of Sidr, Samar and Ghaf trees in one of the mountains of Wadi Al Helo.

The campaign included an educational exhibition about the mountain plants, and some sustainable afforestation innovations for school students, in line with the visions and directives of the wise leadership.
