Sharjah24: The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) honoured a number of distinguished schools participating in the 8th edition of the "Sustainable Trees" initiative during the closing ceremony that was attended by Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) at the Authority's headquarters. Aisha Ateeq Al-Amiri, Administrative Coordinator in the Department of Biological Diversity at the Authority stated that the initiative focuses on public and private school students through several stages to educate them about the importance of local and perennial trees.
Commenting on this, Aisha Al-Amiri confirmed in exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24" the significant importance of the ghaf tree, adding that the registration for the initiative will start at the beginning of 2024, with including a number of innovative activities for students on the importance of trees and their role in maintaining environmental balance.
