SHD arrives in Al Nahwa with thrilling activities

Sharjah 24: Saqr Mohammed, head of the opening committee of Al Hamriyah and the Eastern and Central Regions of Sharjah Heritage Days, stated that the activities of the twentieth edition of the heritage and cultural event continues, as it landed in the Al Nahwa area on Saturday.
In the presence of Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba, the activities of the Sharjah Heritage Days, organised by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, kicked off on Saturday in the Al Nahwa area of Khorfakkan.

The opening ceremony was attended by Abdullah Khalfan Al Naqbi, Governor of Al Nahwa, Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council, Khaled Al Shehhi, Director of the Sharjah Heritage Institute branch in Khorfakkan, and a crowd of officials and representatives of government departments and residents.

Saqr Mohammed said that Al Nahwa is the last stop for the activities that have taken place in various cities and regions of Sharjah since the beginning of this month, and will continue until the 21st of the same month.

He explained to “Sharjah 24” that the twentieth edition, which came under the motto "Heritage and Creativity", was characterised by great momentum and diversity in its presentations, embodying the heritage and consolidating it in the memory of generations.

Saqr Mohammed added that a distinguished location in Al Nahwa was chosen to host the events- the old neighbourhood, which has been restored to serve as a platform for celebrations and events taking place in the region.

The heritage activities included a mini exhibition of handicrafts and ancient heritage collectibles, in addition to theatre performances, which varied between folklore and folk songs, poems, and school songs.
