Sharjah 24: Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba, inaugurated the 22nd edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days at the Heritage Village in Khorfakkan on Friday. The opening ceremony was attended by notable officials including Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and several other key figures from the government and municipality.

Diverse activities highlighting Emirati heritage

Dr Khalid Al Shehhi, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage in Khorfakkan, shared that the Sharjah Heritage Days program offers a unique blend of activities to showcase authentic Emirati heritage. The event, which will run until Sunday, February 23, has attracted participation from numerous government, semi-government, and private institutions.

Heritage Village features and programmes

The Heritage Village hosts various pavilions from participating institutions, a corner for productive families, restaurant halls, and personal museums. Other attractions include a heritage cinema, a handicrafts corner, and a theater corner featuring daily folklore performances, competitions, and workshops, enriching the cultural experience for attendees.
