This came in a lecture, given by Dr. Abu Naama entitled "Cultural Heritage in Sharjah through Travellers' Books... Khorfakkan as a Model", organised by the SIH on Thursday at its Khorfakkan branch.
Dr. Abu Naama stated exclusively to "Sharjah 24" that the lecture discussed the writings of Arab and foreign travellers on the cultural heritage of Khorfakkan, and the impressions they took that documented important aspects of the heritage.
He added that the writings are pieces of evidence that document the city's heritage in ancient times, noting that the lecture dealt with the most prominent travellers who visited Khorfakkan, including Ibn Battuta, Yaqout Al Hamawi, and some foreign travellers.
