Sharjah 24: Anoud Mohammed Al Naqbi, Events Organiser at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), Khorfakkan Branch, announced the launch of the SIH’s summer programme activities from Al Sidra Heritage District.
On Monday, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), Khorfakkan Branch, launched the first activities of its summer programme, which begins in Al Sidra Heritage District, and includes several training workshops that will continue until July 5.
Anoud Mohammed Al Naqbi said that the programne is divided into two parts, where several activities will be held in Al Sidra Heritage District, while the programne will continue at the Traditional Crafts Museum in Souq Sharq, starting on July 8 and for 3 days.
She explained in statements to “Sharjah 24” that the programme aims to enhance awareness of heritage among various age groups, especially children from 6 to 12 years old, in addition to introducing them to ways and tools for preserving heritage through two training workshops on heritage drawing, heritage and nature, which are provided by the Environment and Protected Areas Authority.
She added that the programme also aims to revive heritage areas such as Al Sidra Heritage District, introducing new generations to their historical value, and includes tourist tours for participants in the area, along with the organisation of various events and workshops.
