To meet some of the people who will be participating in the triennial that opens in November, Oshinowo stated, "Today we held a symposium called Communal Tectonics." They are talking about the intangible value of building communities in terms of design and sustainability, as well as some of the social aspects of their projects that have brought people together.
She went on to say, "The triennial is largely going to be about the celebration of the design breakthroughs that exist around the globe that haven't necessarily been honoured at a formal level. In these areas, several viable options have emerged in response to conditions of scarcity. There has been innovation and ingenuity within this area, and we are thrilled to be able to exhibit the work of architects, artists, and designers who have been collaborating throughout the world to break boundaries."
