Sharjah 24: In the presence of Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of Sharjah Ruler's Office in Khorfakkan, the 20th edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days kicked off Sunday in the city of Khorfakkan, and run until March 12.

Sharjah Heritage Days General Supervisor Mohammed Ali Al Johari highlighted the uniqueness of this year's celebrations by noting that they are being hosted in the significant historic district of Khorfakkan, in the city's eastern neighbourhood immediately adjacent to its port.

Multiple historic houses have been renovated, and the area is now being studied for its archaeological significance.

Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Al Johari confirmed that the two areas where the events are taking place are the eastern region and the Sidra neighbourhood in the "Luluiyah" region.

Handicrafts from the mountains, the sea, and the farms, as well as traditional music and performance, are just some of the things that people showcase in addition to their own products.
