The event, which runs until the 11th of next March, sees remarkable local, regional and international participation.
Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, said: “Holding Sharjah Heritage Days activities in Al Dhaid is a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who always stresses that heritage has the greatest impact on the development of the national taste, patriotism, a sense of belonging and pride in the genuineness derived from the heritage of our fathers and grandfathers, and we were very pleased with the hospitality of the people of Al Dhaid, who are known for their generosity, originality and patriotism."
The attendees toured the event area amidst the rhythms of the drums and traditional dance as well as delivery of poems calling for cohesion and solidarity among members of the society.
Demonstrating the heritage blending between the world's cultures, the Hungarian band's performance, with its distinctive traditional dress, its melodies and the rhythms of the performers' movement, and its lyrical pieces derived from its popular heritage, added a double joy to the activities of the Sharjah Heritage Days, and formed a realistic opportunity to show the fact that global cultural diversity is an important factor for peace among people and an opportunity for civilised communication and a translation of Emiratis’ love and tolerance towards other peoples of the world.
