Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI), through its sub-department in the city of Dibba Al Hisn, provided assistance over the past year, which amounted to 4.8 million dirhams, benefiting about 1,827 beneficiaries from the city's residents and its affiliated areas.
Dr. Ali Al Salami, Director of the SCI’s Department in Dibba Al Hisn, stated that the department received 433 requests for assistance last year, all requests were processed, and the committee approved 372 requests. 61 cases were rejected for non-compliance with the conditions of eligibility for assistance.
The aid provided included 502 cases of widows, divorcees, orphans, people with no income, and the elderly within the monthly aid at a cost of one million dirhams, as well as 44 sick cases, at a cost of 700 thousand dirhams. The assistance also included 53 cases against which judicial rulings were issued.
The SCI also aided 130 students who are unable to pay tuition fees, at a cost of 800 thousand dirhams. In addition to maintenance and restoration of residential homes for 90 families at a cost of 1.2 million dirhams, and spending about half a million dirhams, to implement seasonal campaigns throughout the year.
He thanked the benefactors who supported the association's projects, as their contributions had a great impact on the implementation of this amount of aid, from which hundreds of deserving families benefited.
