Sharjah 24: In support of the Sharjah Child-Friendly City project, the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW), organised an interactive meeting with the affiliate of the Child Centre in Dibba Al Hisn under the title "Sustainable Civilisation Reconstruction".
The meeting aims to educate children about the importance of engineering and introducing them to the nature of the department's work.
The meeting included a set of interactive activities including an introductory overview of the SDPW 's work and projects, field tours of many ongoing and implemented projects.
Engineer Eman Al Naqbi, in - charge of the technical division in Dibba Al Hisn branch, emphasised the importance of educating children about the nature of engineering work, in order to cultivate their ambition and push them towards science.
Al Naqbi pointed out that the SDPW shows great interest in children and is keen to educate them and satisfy their curiosity about scientific topics, noting that these meetings have been launched since 2015, and are developed every year to adapt to the requirements of modern life. The department also has an annual printed and digital edition titled “Future Engineer” that targets children through attractive edutainment methods.
