Sharjah24: The ninth My Health conference 2022, organized by the Health Promotion Department (HPD) at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah under the auspices of Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed AlQasimi, Wife of The Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, witnessed a panel discussion on the future of digital health and its impacts on the quality of life in societies.The discussion was presented by a host of doctors and health specialists from many countries as part of the conference activities that wrap up this evening (Wednesday).
The interactive activity titled ‘Digital Health: Pros & Cons’ saw a significant attendance and included five scientific working papers that tackled the role of digital technology in shaping the future of health and the importance of making the best investment out of digital transformation in supporting sustainable, health development. The discussion also underscored the role of information technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing health promotion practices to achieve the desired goals of spreading health awareness and entrenching healthy lifestyles. The discussion also addressed the negative impacts of digital life on the individual's mental and physical health.

Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department, pointed out that digital health is a main fundamental for enhancing the quality of life, providing the highest levels of efficiency in health care services and bettering the quality of outputs. That is why, she added, the HPD was keen to organize a discuss about the present reality and the future of digital health and the ways to enroot its practices – be it at the individual or institutional levels locally, regionally and globally in a manner that contributes to supporting the objectives of the Global Strategy on Digital Health 2025 aimed at accelerating the preparation and implementation of solutions and innovations that enhance the digital health uses that are appropriate, accessible and sustainable for all communities.
