Sharjah24: The Health Promotion Department (HPD) at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah confirmed the completion of all preparations for the launch of the 9th My Health 2022 conference, which is organised by the HPD under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed AlQasimi, Wife of His Highness Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
The event will run on 15 and 16 November with the participation of a host of leaders and representatives from a number of high-profile regional and international health organisations and authorities, most notable of which are the UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention, the World Health Organization, the Gulf Health Council and the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The conference, which will take place under the slogan ‘Towards a Healthy Life’ on the University of Sharjah campus in addition to the virtual platforms, will discuss 38 specialized scientific working papers on the most prominent health strategies and practices that affect healthy lifestyles and how they link to many health issues and chronic diseases.
They will be discussed in 8 talk sessions presented by over 40 doctors and health professionals from the UAE, the UK, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq and Lebanon. Among the most prominent participants are Dr. Ayoub Al Jawaldeh, Regional Adviser in Nutrition at the World Health Organization, HE Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muhairi, President of the Sharjah Health Authority, Dr. Nada Hassan Al Marzouqi, Director of Public Health and Prevention Dept. at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, HE Maryam Ibrahim Al Hajri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Professor James Bogan, Senior Fellow at the UK Health Foundation, and Professor Abla Sebai, Dean of Health Sciences Faculty at American University of Beirut.
Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah indicated that the wide local, Arab and international participation shows the great trust placed in the conference and reflects the importance of the topics that will be discussed therein and the international community's desire to unite efforts towards enhancing health promotion and reinforcing health practices in societies as a basic foundation for achieving developmental health goals and shifting from health care and treatment to prevention strategies with the aim of guaranteeing sustainable health and improving quality of life for the society as a whole.
