Sharjah 24: The second annual Kalba Beach Games will be held in the city of Kalba from November 12–18, with an opening ceremony on the evening of November 11. The event comes under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
In a press conference held at its headquarters, on Tuesday, the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) announced the details of the event in the presence of SSC's Chairman, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, SSC’s Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Abdulmalik Mohammed Jani, members of the Board of Directors, and a number of officials in the field of sports and the media.
More than 600 male and female athletes, according to Jani, will compete in the event, which features 7 championships in addition to self-defense sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, rowing, badminton, and triathlon.
He stated to “Sharjah 24” that the event will award a total of half a million dirhams to the winners, and that the event would feature a running race as part of the accompanying games, in addition to several heritage activities and contests.
