Sharjah24: At the 24th annual Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed Awards for Childhood Creativity, the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators' Sharjah Children Centres (SCCs) took home honours in the categories of short story, drawing, plastic arts, and programming.
Noura Ahmad Yusuf Al-Naqbi, from the Khorfakkan Child Centre, won first place in fine arts for the 10–12 age group and second place in "programming" for the 10–14 age group while Rawdah Rashid Al Mazrui, from the Wadi Al-Helo centre, won third place in drawing for the 8–10 age group. Aisha Humaid Al-Khayyal, also of the Al-Khalidiya Child Centre, took third place in the short story writing competition for the 10 to 14 age group, and Malak Mohammed Khamis, won third place in the fine arts competition for the 13 to 15 age group.
The winners were delighted by their achievements, which they largely credit to the efforts of the Sharjah Children's Foundation, an organisation whose goal is to enable children to develop to their full potential through the provision of a safe, stimulating environment and a variety of programmes that highlight their many talents.
