Sharjah24: Abdullah Mohammed Al Zaabi, Head of Information Technology and Systems Department at Kalba City Municipality of Sharjah, announced the launch of “Kalba Grows” Programme during their participation in GITEX Technology Week 2022 within the Sharjah Government Pavilion.
The programme uses augmented reality technology intending to embellish the agricultural area.
Al Zaabi stated, in exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24” that the programme was launched translating the interests of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in the agricultural area and the embellishment of Kalba
According to Al Zaabi, the programme’s sole purpose is to facilitate the agricultural process for the employees of the Agriculture Department in the municipality. The old approach was taking pictures by phone, camera, or aerial photos and then creating a design using specialised programmes; however, it is not the same case with the “Kalba Grows” program, for it uses an altered reality technology that enables the employee to have an abstract view of the realistic measurements of existing areas in a short time.
Eng. Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi, Directer of the Municipality, said that the programme will be available for the public use after GITEX, which will serve them in embellishing their private gardens.
