Sharjah Police marks Int'l Day for Older Persons in Khorfakkan

Sharjah24: Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations at the Sharjah Police, attended on Thursday, a celebration on the occasion of the "International Day for Older Persons".
The initiative took place at the headquarters of the "Hayyakum Akruba" Foundation in the popular market in Khorfakkan and attended by Colonel Mona Sorour Al-Shuaihi, Deputy Director of the Department of the Punitive and Correctional Institution, Head of the Human Rights Team at the Command; Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Al-Dhahouri, Head of the Public Relations Department; a number of officers from various departments, in addition to a large presence of elderly people from the Khorfakkan Society for Culture, and the Ministry of Community Development - Khorfakkan Customer Happiness Center, and the Department of Social Services – Khorfakkan. 

The celebration included a number of entertainment and cultural activities, as well as show and theatrical activities presented by Atika Bint Zaid School - Episode One, and volunteers from the Sharjah Police, in addition to a performance by the military band at the Academy of Police Sciences.

Building on that,  Brigadier General Ahmed Al Serkal stressed the keenness of the Sharjah Police to allocate a day for the elderly and celebrate them, in line with the directives of the wise leadership in providing the best humanitarian services and enhancing comfort for them.

For her part, Colonel Mona Sorour added: "Within the framework of visions of Sharjah Police General Command,  especially for the elderly, the Punitive and Correctional Institution of Sharjah Police has recently been awarded the title of "Age-sensitive Institution", in appreciation of its efforts to abide by the requirements and standards that It means the elderly

At the end of the ceremony, Brigadier General Al Serkal honoured the collaborating parties, namely “Hayakom Foundation Come Closer”, Atika Bint Zaid School - Cycle One, and Al Bidya School for Boys – Cycle One and Cycle Two, expressing his thanks to Professor Fatima Al-Mughni, Director of “Hayakom Come Closer Foundation”, for the hospitality and generosity at the event.
