Sharjah 24: The activities of the 11th edition of the International Government Communication Forum witnessed the launch of a number of initiatives, systems and platforms by government departments and bodies in the Emirate of Sharjah, which would serve a large segment of society, in addition to addressing the media role of institutions and achieving effective communication with the public.
The 11th IGCF is organised by the International Government Communication Centre of the Sharjah Government Media Centre at Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme "Challenges and Solutions".
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, stressed the importance of government communication in the tourism sector, noting that the sector faces many challenges.
Al Midfa explained that the successful government communication is represented in achieving the requirements and standards of government communication, and benefiting from the tools of modern means of communication to reach the public.
Salha Ghabish, Head of the Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, presented the experience of the Supreme Council in government communication between the Council and the Emirati family in Sharjah, and the media role aimed at achieving the Council's vision and aspirations.
Khalid Al Ali, director of the Sharjah Occupational Safety and Health System, revealed the launch of the Sharjah Occupational Safety and Health Authority, which is the first of its kind in the Gulf countries.
He explained that the goal of the system is to define the standards to be followed for the practice of various activities in the Emirate of Sharjah, to ensure a safe, sustainable and healthy work environment.
The sessions witnessed the launch of the "You are a Book" initiative by the House of Wisdom, and the "Sharjah Education" platform by the Sharjah Education Council.
