Upon his arrival, Sultan bin Ahmed unveiled the commemorative plaque, marking the official opening of the school. He then watched welcoming performances presented by the students of Rushmore American School, which began with the recitation of the UAE national anthem, followed by a reading of verses from the Holy Quran by one of the students.
Sultan bin Ahmed listened to poetic verses in which a student welcomed him, expressing his and his fellow students’ pride in belonging to Rushmore American School, pledging to Sultan bin Ahmed to work diligently and double their efforts to become the best generation in the future.
A group of female students then presented an artistic performance expressing their pride in the Arabic language and its role in preserving national identity and strengthening cultural belonging. Through their performance, they embodied the values of eloquence and beauty carried by the Arabic language as a fundamental pillar of the nation’s rich heritage, expressing their happiness at being part of a school that provides them with knowledge and learning.
Deputy Ruler of Sharjah toured the school building, viewing the children’s play area designated for break time and the classrooms equipped with the latest modern educational technologies. His Highness listened to a briefing from the administrative team about the innovative educational programmes adopted by the school and the ways technology is used to support students’ skills and expand their knowledge in line with the emirate’s aspirations for advancing the educational system.
Early childhood learning and student development
Sultan bin Ahmed met kindergarten students and learned about the main educational and recreational activities provided to develop their basic skills and enhance their cognitive and social abilities. His Highness also listened to an explanation about the early childhood programmes adopted by the school to build a motivating and safe learning environment that supports a child’s development from their earliest years of study.
The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah continued his tour of the school facilities, which include a clinic equipped with medical devices and trained staff to monitor students’ health, and a library containing around 1,250 books in various languages and topics, such as Islamic and Arabic books, stories, and others, in addition to designated reading areas.
Sports facilities supporting student wellbeing
The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah also visited the sports section of the school, inspecting the gymnasium, swimming pool, football field, and outdoor play area dedicated to the students. These facilities contribute to supporting the students’ physical fitness and mental wellbeing.

The inauguration was attended alongside His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah by: Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Petroleum Department; Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council; Ali Al Hosani, Director General of the Sharjah Private Education Authority; and a number of officials.
