Speaking on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, Al Owais said, "The UAE has occupied a prominent regional and international position in the humanitarian work sector thanks to the solid foundations laid by the nation’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had transformed humanitarian work into one of the country’s most important pillars."
The minister lauded the country’s relentless efforts made, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to foster a culture of humanitarian work nationwide and enhance the country's role in providing development and humanitarian aid.
He stressed that the national humanitarian efforts have become a sustainable approach that turned the concept of giving and contribution into an authentic value of the country’s past, present, and future. The minister underscored that the UAE will not hesitate to support the least fortunate countries and people, wherever they are, through charitable initiatives that would benefit millions of the needy.
"Therefore, our country has launched a series of humanitarian projects and provided aid in response to the many challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, where it was at the forefront of the world nations distributing and transferring vaccines and medical aid to about 108 countries," Al Owais stated.
