UAE urges Sudan peace, condemns disinformation campaign

Since the outbreak of the civil war, the UAE has backed both regional and international efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire, protecting civilians, and ensuring accountability for all violations committed by the warring factions.

Advocacy for a civilian-led process

The UAE emphasised the need for a civilian-led transition, underscoring that the interests of the Sudanese people must be prioritised over any political or military faction.

Addressing disinformation from Port Sudan Authority

The UAE expressed concern over a recent surge in false accusations and disinformation campaigns from the so-called Port Sudan Authority, labeling them as deliberate propaganda efforts. These unfounded claims, the UAE stated, are aimed at deflecting blame and obstructing efforts to end the conflict.

Continued efforts for dialogue and stability

Reaffirming its commitment, the UAE pledged to continue working with international partners to support dialogue, mobilise humanitarian assistance, and contribute to peace-building initiatives that pave the way for a stable and prosperous future for Sudan.
