Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) organised a dialogue session with the elderly within the "Heritage Blessing" programne in its fifth edition under the slogan "Heritage Protectors", which dealt with the topic "Ways of Living with Natural Disasters in the Past."
Khawla Mubarak Al Ghafli, Head of External Events Department at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, stated that the institute regularly organises dialogue sessions on heritage.
A session was organised to discuss how to people in the past lived with natural disasters. This initiative comes within the Sharjah Age-Friendly City programme, in the presence of a number of elderly people and those interested in heritage, along with Al Asala Club of the Sharjah Social Services Department.
She confirmed in exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24" that the dialogue session discussed ways to coexist with natural disasters in the past and how disasters caused by nature were controlled.
The attendees exchanged information and experiences, as the programme targets the elderly category to integrate them into society through cultural and heritage programmes and events, and future programmes will be presented in the last quarter of 2022.
