Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Institute, stated that the SIH’s participation was part of its agenda in supporting Arab heritage preservation, in addition to highlighting the tremendous interest of Sharjah and the UAE in the art of storytelling.
He pointed out that it is essential to take part in the festival for it constitutes a vital opportunity for the institute to continue showcasing the Emirati heritage and exchange experiences in the world of heritage.
The institute’s participation in the festival varied, most notably: the participation Al Musallam in the scientific symposium on the use of modern technology in intangible heritage, which gained a lively interaction from the attendees as they learned more about the institute’s use of the latest technologies in heritage preservation.
The SIH’s delegation visited the National Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, to sign a cooperation agreement. At the end of the meeting, shields of honour, souvenirs and some scholarly publications of the two institutes were exchanged.
