Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) successfully concluded the first phase of the Basketball Skills Development Programme, which was launched at the beginning of August in Mleiha, Khorfakkan and Al Hamriyah clubs, and included 230 players from nine clubs in the emirate.
The second phase of the programme will be held during 15 - 26 August in an external camp in Serbia that includes 16 distinguished players who were carefully selected from the first phase on scientific and technical basis to achieve the desired goals of SSC’s programme.
In this context, Nabil Mohammed Ashour, Director of the Sports and Development Affairs Department at the SCC, praised the technical level and the efforts made by the players and coaches during the first phase, which achieved tangible success. He also thanked the clubs for their cooperation with the council in implementing initiatives that benefit the emirate’s clubs and their affiliates, including players and coaches.
He stressed the council's keenness to implement such development programmes and attract the best foreign experts to improve team games, thus contributing to the achievements of the clubs and their teams.
