Khorfakkan Parents Council honours Sawaed Al Khair volunteers

Sharjah 24: The Khorfakkan Parents Council on Friday organised ceremony to honour the civilian volunteers of the Sawaed Al Khair (Hands of Goodness” initiative which was launched under the umbrella of the Sharjah Social Services Department to extend hand to those who were affected by the recent floods that hit the city and the cities of the emirate’s Eastern Region.

Bassam Ali Suleiman Al Naqbi, Vice chairman of the Parents' Council in Khorfakkan, confirmed the council's support for voluntary work that would achieve social cohesion, especially during crises.

He added to “Sharjah 24” that the initiative aims to motivate all segments of society to carry out voluntary work and spread this culture owing to its positive effects on the individual and the society alike.

Al Naqbi explained that the initiative included honouring civilian volunteers who contributed to social work, including distributing meals and helping the competent authorities to clean the homes of those affected by torrential rain.
