Sharjah24: The Sharjah Summer Chess Championship for juniors under 14 years has successfully concluded, as part of the summer activity programme of Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, in cooperation with the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club and under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council.

13 clubs participated in the tournament, including five clubs representing clubs with disabilities. The tournament aims to discover and determine the levels of new and unclassified talents in chess and develop the spirit of competition among the participating players.

Kaltham Obaid Al Matrooshi, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Thiqa Club for the Disabled, confirmed that the success of the tournament was the result of cooperation between Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled and the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, and the permanent support of the Sharjah Council through its various programs for summer activities, and that this tournament is one of the strongest chess tournaments for chess players at the state level.
