Sharjah24: Sharjah's Ports and Border Points Committee (SPBC) confirmed the readiness of all authorities and ports to receive visitors to the country during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, and the continuity of efforts aimed at developing and improving the general performance of all the emirate's ports.
This came during the committee’s regular meeting for the year 2022, which was held recently through the visual communication technology, headed by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah.
At the beginning of the meeting, the committee was briefed on the preparations of all the authorities operating at the border crossings and points, which include (the Khatm Milaha port in Kalba city, the eastern port and the western port in Dibba Al-Hisn and the border point of Al Madam), and the latest preparations to deal with the regiments coming to the state during the Eid holiday and those departing from it, expressing their They are fully assured of their high readiness at all levels.
Al-Raisi indicated that the meeting dealt with a number of important axes, as the committee was briefed on the security and emergency plans for the ports sector and border points, and the latest developments regarding the implementation of the smart ports project in cooperation with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security.
In an item of new work, the committee reviewed the letter received from the Director of the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority for Transport Affairs regarding the trial operation of the bus service at the Khatm Meliha point next to the Khatm Milaha border crossing, which is designated for running buses to transport arrivals to the country through the port to the lines that the transportation network passes through, whether In the city of Kalba or transfer them to Jubail Station in Sharjah, pointing out that the bus is available at the assembly point next to the port every 70 minutes from 8:15 in the morning until 12:30 after midnight on a daily basis.
