Sharjah24: The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) received a delegation from the Carnegie Institution for the Advancement of Education (CIAE), with the aim of reviewing the Authority's achievements and pioneering educational experiences in the emirate, and discussing enhancing prospects for joint scientific cooperation between the two parties and implementation mechanisms.
The visiting delegation was received by Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashemi, Chairman of the Sharjah Private Education Authority; Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Authority, and Ziad Shatat, Director of the Continuous Improvement Department, while the visiting delegation included Dr. Tony Burke, former president of the Carnegie Endowment for the Advancement of Education; Dr. Paul Lomayo, Senior Vice President of the Carnegie Endowment for the Advancement of Education, Jojo Manai, Managing Director, Collaborative Technology Division at the Carnegie Endowment for the Advancement of Education.
The attendees discussed mechanisms of joint cooperation in the areas of exploring global multicultural educational frameworks and mechanisms for developing the process of continuous improvement in schools by conducting research on effective practices, in addition to discussing ways to organize conferences and develop joint professional development plans.
Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, valued the visit of the delegation of the institution, which has a reputation and extensive experience in the fields of developing educational systems and enhancing capabilities that would advance the educational field, providing the opportunity to exchange experiences between two sides.
She added that the strategies of the Sharjah Private Education Authority keep pace with the rapid developments witnessed by the educational sector around the world, and in line with its variables, leading to achieving the desired goals and outputs, explaining that consolidating the prospects for cooperation with various institutions and bodies.
For his part, His Excellency Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, said that the authority believes in the necessity of expanding the scope of participatory work that is based on the exchange of benefit and the accumulated experiences of the concerned parties, stressing that the Emirate of Sharjah today possesses extensive experience and expertise in the educational field, which has achieved over the past few years a package of quality gains.
He pointed out that the visit of the Foundation's delegation contributed to providing an opportunity to see and learn about the experiences of both sides, and also contributed to introducing the best international practices that proved their success in promoting and developing the educational system's tools, empowering all parties in the educational field, relying on the unlimited support provided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The visit aimed to discuss appropriate improvement methodologies for the work environment in the authority and the emirate, and to design, implement and refine teaching, learning and assessment practices in schools.
