Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University, represented by the Center for Continuing Education and Development, discussed, during its reception of the delegation of the Friends of Diabetes Patients Association, aspects of cooperation and coordination of joint efforts with the aim of qualifying university students and educating them to prevent diabetes and qualifying them as ambassadors in their countries to spread the culture of diabetes prevention .
From the association's side, Khawla Al-Hajj, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Diabetic Patients Association, and Professor Hessa Al-Sharif, a member of the Board of Directors of the Society, the Treasurer, and a number of members and volunteers supporting the association were present.
The association's delegation received Prof. Dr. Atta Abdel Rahim, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Development, and Ahlam bin Jarash, Assistant Rector for Female Student Affairs, in addition to her role as a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Diabetes Patients Association, head of the Development Committee.
Prof. Dr. Atta Abdel Rahim, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Development, welcomed the delegation of the Friends of Diabetic Patients Association, praising the association’s roles and continuous efforts in introducing the means of preventing diabetes and its repercussions, pointing out that the center is keen to enhance aspects of joint work with the association to raise the level of health awareness among university students through cooperation in the establishment of joint awareness programs.
In turn, Khawla Al-Hajj, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Diabetes Patients Association, stressed the association’s continuation of its strategic vision in enhancing aspects of cooperation with various institutions, including universities, in order to communicate and coordinate with Al Qasimia University with the aim of integrating efforts to achieve the association’s goals of building bridges of communication between the association and the university.
Then, they discussed the "Ambassadors of Diabetes" initiative, which aims to educate university students of different nationalities about diabetes, whether prevention or coexistence with it through the "Diabetes Ambassadors" program, which contains a series of specialised programs and courses in the field.
