Sharjah24: The Sharjah Volunteer Center (SVC) at Sharjah Social Services Department organised the "My School is Safe" initiative, which targeted 101 students at Taryam Omran School from the fourth cycle, who cleaned the environment around them in their school and its facilities as well, to create a clean environment for students and to promote a culture of hygiene.
The center also organised an awareness workshop on the importance of volunteering and its reflection on one's personality and psyche, and the importance of volunteer work in achieving social solidarity and social cohesion among the members of society.
Hessa Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion, said that the student team registered 214 volunteer hours that were documented on the volunteer platform at the Sharjah Volunteer Center, and the participating students were registered as volunteers, bringing the total number of volunteers in the center to 24,507 volunteers so far.
