The age-sensitive award launched by the Sharjah office is the first of its kind as an award for senior citizens in the cultural, social, health, and professional fields, making use of potential drives and experience and investing them in the service of the emirate.
Asma Al Khodari, Director of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City Office, said that the essentiality of launching the award is to diversify the means of communication and participation with senior citizens for its effectiveness in promoting and achieving social integration.
Al Khodari explained that the award categories are the active elderly category, age group between 60 and 79 years, and the advanced elderly category, age group of 80 years and above. In order for the senior citizens to participate, they need to mark all the check boxes of the award, including residing in Sharjah, having valid official papers, passing personal interviews, and submitting projects that do not exceed a year from the start of the award, in addition to presenting the nomination paper during the announced application period.
