Sharjah24: The efforts of the Water Quality Department of Water and Desalination Plants Department at Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) resulted in the inspection and examination of 224 tanks in residential, commercial and industrial areas and mosques during the first quarter of 2022 in order to ensure the quality of water in building tanks and to ensure their safety.
Engineer Essam Al Mulla, Director of the Water Production and Desalination Plants Department, confirmed that the Water Quality Department is making intensive efforts to follow up and monitor the quality of water and to ensure its safety and compliance with specifications, pointing out the need to adhere to a number of important controls to maintain the quality of water in tanks.
He explained that the authority’s technical teams carry out periodic inspection tours to ensure the cleanliness and safety of water tanks and water installations in buildings, and in the event of bacterial contamination, the building owner and consumers are asked not to use water to maintain public health and to continue cleaning tanks and internal connections to the building on the same day through an approved company in Tank cleaning field.
He pointed out the importance of selecting companies that carry out the task of maintaining, cleaning and sterilizing tanks from among the companies approved by the authority, which are evaluated periodically so that they have a team of experienced and skilled in maintaining, cleaning and sterilizing tanks.
