SBA concludes its participation in Abu Dhabi Int'l Book Fair

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) concluded its participation in the 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which was held from 23-29 May.
In its pavilion, it reviewed the elements of the cultural project led by the Emirate of Sharjah, and its efforts to advance books and knowledge, and shed light on its initiatives in promoting the publishing industry. In addition to providing an opportunity for publishers and representatives of local, Arab and international cultural institutions to view the services provided by the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone to investors in the publishing industry and creative sectors.


The SBA's participation in the activities of the 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair provided an opportunity to meet a number of writers and publishers, and introduce them to the most prominent cultural events organised by Sharjah during the year, such as the Sharjah International Book Fair, the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, and other events. Through which Sharjah seeks to create a cultural and knowledge environment that focuses on developing the talents of community members, and satisfies the passion for reading among different groups.

In an effort to introduce its projects and initiatives that support creative industries in all its sectors, the SBA’s delegation, headed by Fadel Hussain Bussim, Director of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) in the Eastern Region, reviewed the range of opportunities offered by the Sharjah International Literary Agency to promote the publishing industry in the Arab region, and take into account the preservation of intellectual property rights. 



Speaking about the SBA’s participation in the exhibition, Fadel Hussein Busim stressed that the Sharjah cultural project is full of many efforts, initiatives and pioneering events that seek to multiply their impact by participating in local and international forums such as the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, especially since these occasions represent an opportunity to meet publishers and readers.
