Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Book Authority is participating in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) 2022, to promote its events and activities and to provide support to publishers and writers. Badr Muhammad Saab, Head of the Institutional Communication Department at Sharjah Book Authority, confirmed that the Authority's participation in the ADIBF is one of the most important participations that promote the Authority's upcoming events and festivals, as well as promoting programmes and special prizes to support publishers.
Speaking exclusively to "Sharjah 24", Badr Muhammad Saab said that during the Authority participation, the Sharjah International Literary Agency (SILA) was introduced, being the first agency of its kind in the UAE and the region, and aims to facilitate communication between publishers, writers, translators and creative content makers, and to organise their operations according to legal and professional frameworks that guarantee publishers and authors rights.
The head of the Institutional Communication Department added that the translation grant for publishing houses was reviewed during their participation in ADIBF, which supports Arab and foreign publishers and writers to translate Arabic books into foreign languages and foreign books into Arabic to be delivered to all societies.
