Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) won the Stevie gold and bronze awards in the Middle East and North Africa, which is one of the highest and leading international awards in the field of appreciating and honouring the achievements of the business sector for government entities, semi-governmental institutions, companies and distinguished services.
The SDPW won the golden award in the category of innovative technical and smart services in the field of customer service, in addition to winning a Stevie bronze award in the category of best response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a qualitative achievement added to the urban and administrative excellence of the department.
His Excellency Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW), pointed out that the achievement represents a new confirmation of the department's success in providing technical and smart services in the field of customer service, which always aims to enhance work indicators and develop professional performance on an ongoing basis, in addition to achieving global competitiveness.
His Excellency praised the teams and employees who contributed to the SDPW excellence, to obtain these awards, through innovative initiatives, and foreseeing the future of modern technologies that support the department's work agenda.
Eng. Hind Nasser, Director of the Strategic Planning and Quality Centre in SDPW, stated that she won awards within the "International Stevie Award", which is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the world, for "the best innovative technical services in the field of customer service", which contributed to raising SDPW position in the quality of services and community happiness.
Nasser stressed that this award serves as a motivation to continue towards further development and continuous pursuit of greater excellence, improving performance, advancing responsibilities and duties, and continuing to develop programmes according to the highest standards of quality.
The award included 83 winners, whereas the UAE alone had 39 winners, shared by government institutions and private companies from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah.
The award received more than 12000 nominations from institutions, individuals and distinguished and creative businesses, representing more than 70 countries, and the jury included more than 100 international experts.
The Stevie Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of business and finance, and is given to the most creative projects in the world. It is equivalent to the “Oscars”, and it has more than 21 global standards, and reaching them requires great strides and unremitting global effort, and it is considered a qualitative leap in the world of business awards.
