Sharjah24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) in issued 21 tenders for various projects during the first quarter of this year, which included 10 tenders for urban construction projects in addition to 8 tenders for maintenance work, and 3 tenders for supply and installation work in different regions of the emirate.
Fatima Hassan, Director of Contracts Department in SDPW, stated the projects are livestock market and slaughterhouse in the Al Owaid area in Al Dhaid, Al Khatm park for ladies in Mleiha, and the implementation of the second phase of planting the northern pasture works in Al Dhaid, in addition to To a number of maintenance and development projects in various regions of Sharjah.

She noted that these projects contribute to creating new job opportunities, support economic activity in all sectors in Sharjah24, and enhance the competitiveness of local markets, which increases their ability to attract more qualitative investments to promote the growth of strategic sectors and improve productivity levels.

In terms of financial savings in the department, she explained that reducing the costs of engineering projects is one of the most critical priorities of the department’s work following government directions, as the negotiation processes achieved a saving of approximately AED12 million from the total budget of all projects during the first quarter, especially by adopting the application of several engineering methods to ensure the reduction of costs and providing the highest quality standards.

The department also attracted more new companies and active companies, as the requests reached 28 during the first quarter of the year, bringing the total number of companies registered in the Department to 448 companies, noting that the SDPW does not only register and qualify, but also studies the files of companies and the file of previous projects.
