Sharjah24: Coinciding with the world’s celebration of World Heritage Day, which falls on April 18 each year, and to enhance national identity, the Dibba Al Hisn Parents Council (DAHPC), affiliated with the Sharjah Education Council organised an exhibition of ancient folk games, with the aim of raising awareness about the best ancient games.
The council was also keen to organise a workshop, in cooperation with the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, to review Emirati cultural customs and traditions, aiming to enhance the national heritage identity among the members of society.
Maryam Rashid Obaid Saif Al-Maamari, Head of the Activities Committee of the Council, said the Parents Council was keen to introduce generations to the Emirati customs and traditions, promoting their learning about ancient folk games.
