Sharjah24: The Health Affairs, Labour and Social Affairs Committee (HALSAC) in Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), during its meeting held at the council’s headquarters in Sharjah on Wednesday morning, reviewed the draft law to reorganise the Sharjah Labour Standards Development Authority (SLSDA), aiming to study and prepare the report on its legal articles.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Musa Al Balushi, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of several dignitaries.

The committee examined various visions on the draft law and discussed its various articles after the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah referred it to the Health Affairs, Labour and Social Affairs Committee in Sharjah Consultative Council, based on the text of the fourth item of Article 7 of Law No. 2 of 1999 regarding the establishment of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and pursuant to the provisions of Article 71 From the internal regulation of the Consultative Council.

The committee discussed the various objectives of the Sharjah Labour Standards Development Authority, contained in the draft law, aimed at regulating work and the necessary policies and strategies related to the draft law to promote and develop labour standards and labour housing.

The Authority's competencies in training and qualifying labour cadres in technical and professional terms and the mechanisms for implementing those programs in coordination with government agencies and establishments were also discussed.
